Ahh... It's really been a long while, a couple of weeks i gathered, that I've updated my blog. Many things happened within these couple of weeks and I've no idea where to begin. Hmm... Lets see... Think I shall start with traffic on the roads.
Been driving on a more frequent basis these days and have encountered many close shaves recently. Don't know if it's me or what, but I seem to meet up with these pple almost every single day. Sigh... Maybe I need to go take a flower bath. Haha... Anyway, there was this morning after dropping Lynn and Nelly for work, Merv and I were heading back to office along Adam Road towards MacRitchie. This white Chevy (Aveo) was driving up from PIE and was trying to filter into the main road. I was travelling on the middle lane , coming down slope at a relatively high speed, but still within the speed limit (mind you, I'm not speeding). Now, this white chevy cut into my lane from the filter lane. Though I was half expecting him to do so, I still had to hit the brakes pretty hard to try to avoid colliding into him, and steered slightly to my right too. Luckily, there was no vehicles behind me, or beside me when this happened. Else, I can't imagine what will happen. Maybe a repeat of my accident 2 yrs back. Haha... Think this was one of the closest shaves that I've encountered. Phew... Lucky both of us are still in one piece.
Went to watch MI:3 on Thurs nite at Marina. Found it to be quite gd, with plenty of action as compared to the previous 2 releases and also beautiful scenes of the Vatican city in Rome and Shanghai. One of the place shown is Zhou Zhuang, a city similar to Venice, which I've recently learned of. :)
I visited Pulau Ubin together with Merv, Lynn and Nelly on the previous Sat. Haven't been there since 1998 or 1999. The place looked so different now, more developed, and more like a tourist attraction. Remember when I've been there in the past, there was still the kampong feeling. Now, I don't have that feeling anymore. It seemed to have vanished after the island has undergone some revamp. Sigh... Anyway, trekking was our main activity there. The group was kinda divided on whether to cycle or walk, but in the end, it was walking that prevailed. Poor Nelly, got bitten by plently of mozzies. Was thinking of using those numbers to buy lottery though. Haha... No lah, just kidding. :P Wanted to visit Chek Jawa, only to discover that the routes there were somewhat fenced up. Think the authorities want to make sure that the place can be visited only with a guide to ensure its preservation. So it's too bad for us.
We headed back to mainland for a sandwich lunch which we've prepared for the trip. Tuna, cheese, ham and bread, and coconuts to go with. Wasn't anything fantastic or sumptuous, but think it was kinda refreshing for a change. Haha... :)
Oh yes, I've got my new mobile (Sony Ericsson K750i) on this day too. Bought it at Parkway Parade. At first, my intention was to get the Dopod 585, cos the price dropped to $138 from $198. Then the gals highlighted that the Sony Ericsson' price also dipped. The temptation was hard to resist, considering that I wanted to get this phone initially but found that having to fork out $100 more to get a few additional features wasn't worth. So finally after weighing the situation, I've decided to go for the Sony Ericsson. :) Was a gd bargain.
On Fri, I've finally got my bowling shoes. It was nice as compared to the one that I was supposed to get, but at that time, they don't have my size. So lucky me, although having have to wait for abt a month, I got a better pair. So, can more or less say, it's worth the wait. :)
Today, it's the elections day. Headed to the polls for the second time. My first was back in 2001 when I've just turned 21 yrs old and had to vote. There wasn't any queue and the whole process was pretty fast. If you're wondering who I voted for, well, it's for Mr Low. Haha... Just in case ya didn't know, both candidates are Mr Low. :D Haha...
That's abt it. Till the next blog, cheers!
